Madeleine Pickens To Be Guest On Season Premier On Milwaukee's Animal Advocate Television

MILWAUKEE, WI, September 08, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Animal Fairy Charities, Inc., with a mission to foster national and international prevention of cruelty to all animals and aid in their safety and welfare, announced that the season premiere of "Animal Advocate Television" on Sat., Sept. 10, would feature an interview with noted animal advocate Madeleine Pickens.

Animal Advocate Television, a public educational program that raises awareness for animals in need, will air part one of a three-part interview with Pickens at 10:00 a.m. on WMLW (Channel 49 or Channel 7 on Time Warner Cable). Debra Lopez, producer and host of Animal Advocate Television, conducted the interview. Part two of the interview will air on Sat., Sept. 17, at 10:00 a.m., with part three on Sat., Sept. 24, at 10:00 a.m., on WMLW.

Pickens, animal advocate, philanthropist and wife of billionaire T. Boone Pickens, helped lead the fight to close the last horse slaughterhouse in the United States. This work resulted in the passage of the American Horse Slaughter Prevention Act by the United States House of Representatives in 2006. In recognition of their efforts, in 2007 Madeleine and Boone Pickens received the Equine Advocates' Safe Home Equine Protection Award.

During Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Pickens organized emergency aid for the multitude of homeless dogs and cats throughout New Orleans, arranging and paying for aircraft to transport many of the animals to the Marin Humane Society in Novato, California.

Her current focus is on working to "Save America's Mustangs," as her Foundation is supporting programs to create a permanent home for these animals.
