Debbie M. McCormick has led an interesting and prosperous political career spanning 22 years

CHARLESTON, WV, April 12, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ --Debbie M. McCormick, Special Assistant in the West Virginia Office of the Governor, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in governmental support and services.

Specializing in communications, Debbie M. McCormick lends over two decades experience to her position with the West Virginia Office of the Governor. As Special Assistant, she is responsible for working with the governor's chief of staff, handling public relations on behalf of the governor, acting as a liaison for constituent concerns and services, and troubleshooting.

Over the last 22 years, Ms. McCormick has led an interesting political career. She started with the state government in human services and, in 1988, was personally asked to work for the Governor's Office. After the governor's term, she went to serve as executive director for the Democratic Party in West Virginia. Through her work for the Democratic Party, she became involved in the Bill Clinton campaign and was subsequently invited to his inauguration. She has since rejoined the Governor's Office for two additional terms.

Bill Clinton and other governmental figures have served as mentors for Ms. McCormick and she has drawn from their encouragement throughout various professional endeavors. Memorable quotes that have helped her persevere have included "It would be an injustice to let you go, but it is a great opportunity," and "Debbie, you always do a great job so great opportunities will present themselves," both spoken by former governors. Indeed, Ms. McCormick credits her success to hard work, a passion for politics and dedication.

Ms. McCormick is a survivor of multiple sclerosis and an avid supporter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and American Cancer Society.
