Laura Goodman Honored by Cambridge Who's Who
Laura Goodman celebrates five years as the director of public safety for St. Catherine University

MINNEAPOLIS, MN, December 27, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ --Laura Goodman, Director of Public Safety for St. Catherine University, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in problem resolution, interviews and issue analysis.

With five years of experience as the director of public safety for St. Catherine University, Ms. Goodman is responsible for managing the public safety of 5,200 full- and part-time students. Ms. Goodman is a retired law enforcement officer with over 30 years of experience. She is skilled in uniting diverse groups of people and is best noted for her interview skills. In 2010, Ms. Goodman ran for the position of Ramsey County Sheriff, the first woman to run for that position. Ms. Goodman was selected as Minnesota's crime victim ombudsman in 1992 and spent 10 years as an advocate for the proper treatment of crime victims. Afterwards, she served as a deputy chief of police in Brooklyn Center. Ms. Goodman has traveled the world, building strong relationships and training law enforcement professionals on community policing.

Ms. Goodman is pursuing a master's degree in strategic leadership at St. Catherine University. In addition to her formal education, she received executive-level training in Minnesota and national incident management systems, as well as training in the following fields: critical incident management, criminal intelligence including information gathering and weapons of mass destruction, information resources project management and planning, communication and police ethics.
