Entrepreneur's endorsement of Obama could signal win for Clinton
Businessman and former Biden backer Michael Salvo announced his support of Barack Obama for the Democratic Presidential Nomination. Salvo has a history of supporting the Democratic runner-up.
/Politics News Articles/ - NEW YORK, NY, February 16, 2008 - New Jersey businessman and entrepreneur Michael Salvo today announced his support of Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) for the Democratic Presidential Nomination, citing the senator's "sound judgment [and] ability to bring the country together." The endorsement echoes a growing trend of CEOs and American top brass supporting the Illinois senator.
Earlier in the Democratic contest, Salvo had worked with Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE) on his campaign. Salvo released a statement today praising Obama and suggesting his "dream ticket" featuring both Obama and Biden.
In an ironic twist, the Obama endorsement may be a positive bellwether for superstitious Hillary Clinton backers due to Salvo's history of support for the Democratic runner-up in past elections. He endorsed Bill Bradley in 2000 and Howard Dean in 2004.
