I have been appointed by the past two Governors, one Democratic and one Republican, to serve on key state boards — including the State Tax Reform Task Force; and I was appointed three different times, by both Republican and Democratic State Treasurers, to serve as the state's Deputy Insurance Commissioner. It's time a fair and reasonable voice be heard."

Janet C. Long and her family have lived in District 51 for more than thirty years. In fact, one of her first jobs was as a City Administrator. Janet has served on the Seminole City Council for the past four years. With three decades of community involvement, Janet is also a caring friend, mother, and wife. With one son on active duty in the Army, another in the National Guard and a Clearwater Police Officer, a daughter who is a nurse, and husband a retired firefighter, Janet and her family certainly know the meaning of commitment, dedication, and public service.
